About
Xin Yan is co-founder and CEO of Sign, a Web3 trust and verification company whose LinkedIn headline describes his current focus plainly: working with governments to turn public services on-chain. His path ran from engineer to investor to entrepreneur. He entered crypto in 2017 as a smart contract engineer and venture investor, working as a senior investment manager and blockchain engineer at Fundamental Labs and Huobi Group on on-chain data analysis and smart contract design, and backing companies including Coinbase, Avalanche, NEAR, zkSync, and Optimism.
In 2021, he and his co-founders launched the company at a hackathon as EthSign, a tool for making digital signatures verifiable on-chain. As they built it, they concluded the real problem was not contracts but trust — blockchains run on code and consensus, while the world runs on trust — and rebuilt the company around that gap. Sign now operates four products: Sign Protocol, an omni-chain attestation infrastructure for recording and verifying any structured data on-chain; TokenTable, a smart-contract token distribution and vesting platform that has facilitated over $2 billion in distributions across EVM chains, TON, and Solana; SignPass, a decentralised identity solution serving as a digital passport for sovereign states, network states, and online communities; and EthSign, the original decentralised electronic agreement platform. The company's $SIGN token launched in April 2025 via the Binance HODLer Airdrop.
His current work centres on blockchain-powered public services, partnering with governments through Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) to build sovereign chains with zero gas fees for end users, and deploying Sign Protocol for KYC and stablecoin payments — with active engagements in Thailand, the UAE, Barbados, and more than twenty other countries. He designs these systems on privacy-first principles, using zero-knowledge proofs so users can prove a claim without disclosing the underlying data, and self-sovereign identity so they retain complete control of it. He is also spearheading the development of Sign App, a super-app combining identity verification, blockchain transactions, and social features.
He is an active angel investor, widely recognized across the industry for founding the "Orange Dynasty" — a community established around a contribution-first rather than a VC-first model of token distribution.
