Gianni Casella is Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director of Asset Management One International (AMOI), where he is responsible for overseeing the firm's investment activities and portfolio management functions across global markets. He has over 30 years of experience in fixed income investing and has spent the majority of his career within the Mizuho Financial Group. Mr Casella joined the organization in 1997 as a Portfolio Manager, managing a credit arbitrage portfolio. Early in his career, he was responsible for US dollar credit and US Treasury portfolios. In 1999, he was appointed Head of Global Fixed Income Portfolios, a position he held until 2012. During this period, he led all global fixed income mandates managed by AMOI while retaining direct responsibility for US dollar fixed income and money market portfolios. From 2012 to 2020, Mr Casella served as Head of Fixed Income, overseeing the full spectrum of fixed income strategies across European and North American credit and government bond markets. In 2020, he was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Asset Management One International. Throughout his career, Mr Casella has managed a diverse range of fixed income strategies, including credit, global macro, government bond and money market portfolios. His experience spans both institutional and pooled fund mandates, serving a global client base primarily comprising investors in Japan and EMEA. In addition to his role as CIO, Mr Casella is a member of the AMOI London Management Committee, contributing to the strategic direction and governance of the business. Mr Casella holds a degree in Economics and Public Administration from the University of London and an MBA from Imperial College Business School, London.
