Andrew Jeffreys is Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Business Group (OBG), the global publishing, research and consultancy firm that produces economic intelligence on the emerging markets of the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. He has led the company for some three decades and has also served as its Editor-in-Chief. Under his leadership OBG has built a country-by-country research operation combining on-the-ground reporting, in-depth sector analysis and interviews with heads of state, ministers and business leaders, publishing its flagship Reports and running the Global Platform video interview series. Jeffreys identifies trade, diversification and human capital as the three principal drivers of growth in emerging markets. Over a career of more than thirty years with the firm he has worked as a consultant in numerous developing countries, with significant time spent in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Eastern Europe, Mexico and across Asia. He is a frequent speaker, moderator and commentator on investment and economic development, having addressed forums including the Malaysia–UK Forum and moderated the Turkey Trade and Investment Forum, and he is regularly quoted in international and regional media on emerging-market opportunity — most recently on nearshoring and infrastructure in Mexico. He was educated at the University of Oxford.
