Mr. Yamamoto joined Mizuho Bank in 1997 and began his career in project finance in 2004. From 2010 to 2017, he was based in New York, where he was responsible for energy and natural resources projects, including those in the oil & gas and mining industries across the Americas. He has over 20 years of experience in the international banking sector, including more than 17 years in project finance and a two-year secondment to the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.In April 2019, he was appointed Head of the Natural Resources Team within the Project Finance Department in Tokyo, following two years in the Corporate Finance Department as a coverage banker for a major Japanese trading company. In July 2021, he was assigned as Head of Project Finance for the Asia-Pacific Corporate Banking Department, based in Singapore. He returned to the Tokyo headquarters in April 2025 and has since led the Project Finance Department as General Manager.
