Sahib Nureddin oglu Alekperov is a seasoned Azerbaijani politician who has served as the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan since April 1, 2020. His career spans several decades and includes significant roles in both the public and private sectors.
Born on January 10, 1952, in the Samukh district of Azerbaijan, Alekperov pursued his higher education at the Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute, graduating in 1972. He later expanded his academic credentials by graduating from the Moscow Academy of Social Sciences in 1984.
Alekperov's professional journey began in 1974 as an engineer at the Baladjary junction of the Azerbaijan Railways.From 1975 to 1996, he was actively involved in Komsomol and Communist Party bodies, holding various positions.Following this period, he transitioned to the private sector, where he worked from 1996 to 2005.
His return to public service saw him assume a series of high-level appointments. From 2005 to 2009, Alekperov served as the Head of the Executive Power of the Sabail district in Baku. Subsequently, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in June 2009.
In a decree by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 2, 2010, Sahib Alekperov was appointed Deputy Minister of Taxes, a position he held until his current appointment as Deputy Minister of Economy.
