Saroj Kumar Jha is the Global Director in the SWADR department at the World Bank, based in Washington, DC. His expertise spans climate change and disaster risk, climate resilient development, community-driven development, disaster resilience, fast-start climate finance, international waterways, post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, public finance, and public sector management. Saroj Kumar Jha is proficient in several languages including Hindi, Arabic, English, Farsi, Maithili, Oriya, Russian, and Urdu.
He holds a D.Sc. in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from The George Washington University, and completed executive studies in International Crisis and Risk Management at Cranfield University. He also received a Certificate of Leadership from the Society for Organizational Learning. Earlier in his career, he completed studies in Civil Engineering and Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
