Mykhailo Partikevych is a Director of VEMA S.A., a Swiss climate and energy consultancy trading as Vema Carbon and headquartered in Fribourg. Founded in 1994 under Swiss law with a focus on the energy and environmental sector, the company has some 30 years of experience in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and introducing energy-efficient technologies at enterprise, industry and state level, and today operates across 12 countries — including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Tunisia, the UAE, Oman, Austria and Switzerland. VEMA S.A. offers a full-cycle service across the carbon value chain: environmental audits and inspections of enterprises and production processes, development and management of emission-reduction projects, green financial consulting, and the trading of emission reduction units. Its project portfolio spans natural gas production and transmission, heat and power generation, renewable energy, power transmission, coal mine methane utilisation, waste management, water supply and drainage, and agriculture. The firm registered more than 70 Joint Implementation projects in Ukraine between 2010 and 2014, developed early projects in Turkmenistan, Greece and Tunisia, and more recently delivered a GCC-registered 46 MW solar project in Ukraine, DEHSt-registered projects, and a World Bank assignment in Uzbekistan detecting and measuring methane emissions at Uzbekneftegaz oil and gas facilities. In 2024 the company was certified by TÜV Austria to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. Alongside its commercial work, VEMA S.A. runs ESG initiatives in Ukraine, including the VEMA Kids programme it co-founded in 2016 for the rehabilitation and socialisation of children with disabilities and central nervous system conditions.
