Robert van der Geest is a Senior Gas Specialist at the World Bank with extensive international experience in the natural gas sector, gas infrastructure, methane emissions reduction, and gas flaring mitigation. He works on projects aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of gas systems and reducing gas losses, including in Central Asia. He currently serves as Task Team Leader for the Uzbekistan Gas Leak Repair Facility and has contributed to the World Bank’s global work on gas flaring and methane reduction. His professional engagement covers countries including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan.
