Kerim is the Founder and Managing Partner of the "Altyn Kanun" Law Firm. Prior to entering private practice in 2007, Kerim served across various state corporations, national banking institutions, and government bodies of Turkmenistan. In particular, he worked for eight years at the Central Bank of Turkmenistan and two years at the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan. Additionally, he held positions within the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the "Turkmenhimiya" State Concern, and the State Agency for Foreign Investment. Since 1992, Kerim has actively participated in drafting Turkmenistan’s national legislation. He was a member of the state working group responsible for drafting key banking, tax, and economic statutes, as well as Presidential Decrees governing these sectors. For more than a decade, Kerim has lectured on civil law and arbitration at the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan. Kerim serves on the Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. He has authored numerous publications focusing on the legal aspects of state economic regulation and the legislative framework for foreign investment in Turkmenistan. Within his private practice at "Altyn Kanun", Kerim advises clients on complex matters related to energy and infrastructure projects, banking and finance, regulatory compliance, and statutory alignment. His core expertise encompasses the oil and gas and power sectors, chemical industry, EPC projects, investment, and finance. Kerim assists various law enforcement authorities of Turkmenistan with state investigations, regulatory compliance, anti-fraud measures, audits, anti-corruption initiatives, and criminal law matters. He has also served as an expert for the Government of Turkmenistan in several international arbitration proceedings conducted under ICSID and ICC rules.
