Suren Poghosyan is an economist (Ph.D.) and SDG Financing Advisor at UNDP’s Regional Hub in Istanbul, covering Europe and the CIS. For over 24 years, he has worked on public financial management reforms and budget-policy coordination in transition and developing countries. Since 2014, he has been with UNDP, supporting climate-responsive and SDG-aligned budgeting across Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Asia-Pacific. He is also the lead author of UNDP’s SDG Budgeting Guidance. Prior to joining UNDP, he collaborated with DFID (UK), the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, OECD, GIZ, and other UN agencies on public finance reform programs.
