Michael Harms began his career in 1993 as a sales engineer at Philips Medical Systems in Hamburg and Moscow. In 2000, he joined the German Business Liaison Office in Berlin and later became a board member of the German Eastern Business Association, overseeing Southeast Europe. From 2001 to 2003, he served in Brussels as Executive Secretary of the Business Advisory Council for Southeast Europe. Starting in 2007, he held senior roles in Moscow, including Chairman of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce. Between 2012 and 2016, he acted as the international representative of the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK). Since April 2016, he has been the Executive Director of the German Eastern Business Association in Berlin.
