Rahymberdi Jepbarov graduated in 2000 from Magtymguly Turkmen State University with a degree in International Economy and International Relations. In 2003, he obtained a degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He began his career in 1998 at the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, holding various positions until 2008. In 2007–2008, he served as Executive Director of the Islamic Development Bank. In March 2008, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs and soon after became Acting Chairman. On April 23, 2008, he became Turkmenistan’s Governor at the Islamic Development Bank. By Presidential Decree of January 15, 2010, he was approved as Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan.
