Charymuhammet Shallyyev was appointed Director of the CAREC Institute in November 2024. The Institute focuses on promoting regional cooperation and development in Central Asia. Prior to this role, he held various academic and public sector positions in Turkmenistan, including at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management. He has a strong background in economics and management and is recognized for contributions to research, curriculum development, and professional growth. As Director, he emphasizes strengthening regional cooperation in trade, connectivity, and digital innovation, fostering partnerships with organizations like the World Bank, and exploring China’s development experience to address shared challenges in CAREC countries.
