PETRONAS has been operating in Turkmenistan for nearly three decades, with total investments exceeding $11.6 billion. This capital has enabled the creation of extensive infrastructure onshore and offshore. Today, the company produces approximately 400 million cubic feet of gas and nearly 30,000 barrels of liquid hydrocarbons daily.
However, PETRONAS's contribution is not limited to financial resources – the company is actively investing in human capital, Ismadi bin Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Charigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, emphasized in an interview with ORIENT on the sidelines of the Avaza Investment Forum.
"We have a wealth of talented specialists, and we believe they will further develop and assume more senior positions within PETRONAS," he remarked with obvious pride.
The company is also striving to lay the foundation for a new generation. PETRONAS recently sent 15 more students for training under this program. Beyond the financial benefits, this activity brings significant benefits to local service providers and partners.
Speaking about the future, Ismadi bin Ismail confirmed that the company is exploring new opportunities, adding that detailed future plans will be announced at OGT 2025.
