Charles William Henry Morris is the Regional Economic Development Counsellor for the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), focusing on Central Asia. Since February 2024, he has provided strategic guidance on economic development matters in the region. Prior to this role, Charles served as Head of Trade Policy for Southern Africa from 2020 to 2024 and as Head of Trade Agreements in the same region. His expertise in trade and economic relations is backed by extensive experience, including leadership roles in Europe and Central Asia trade continuity and as a Policy Officer at the UK Cabinet Office. Charles holds a Master’s degree in Labor Economics from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Politics from the University of Sheffield.
