Kabir Jurazoda is the current Director of the CAREC Institute, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in public service and international cooperation. Before joining the CAREC Institute, Kabir held several high-ranking positions in the Government of Tajikistan. From 2014 to 2022, he served as an Advisor in the Office of the Assistant to the President of Tajikistan for Economic Affairs, where he monitored the implementation of the National Development Strategy and coordinated work with international financial institutions. Kabir also served as the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Youth, Sports, and Tourism under the Government of Tajikistan from 2006 to 2014. In this role, he oversaw national youth policy, sports development, and tourism initiatives. From 2007 to 2010, Kabir led the World Bank's project on Creating Socio-Economic Opportunities for Youth in Tajikistan as National Coordinator. He was responsible for managing the project’s implementation, monitoring its results, and evaluating the achievement of its key objectives. Kabir's career also includes serving as a member of several intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation, as well as leading roles in various international projects funded by organizations such as UNFPA and GIZ. In recognition of his contributions to regional economic cooperation, he has been awarded several prestigious accolades, including the CIS Heads of State Council Award and the Jubilee Medal for Tajikistan’s Independence.
