Atsuo Kuroda is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in international trade and economic policy. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Yale University (1990) and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Tokyo (1982). Kuroda began his career at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now METI) in 1982. He has held various senior positions, including Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 2009, Deputy Director-General for Trade Policy at METI in 2007, and Director of International Economic Affairs at the Trade Policy Bureau, METI in 2006. His international experience includes roles such as President of JETRO Bangkok Center and Senior Researcher at JETRO Hong Kong. Kuroda's leadership and expertise have significantly contributed to Japan's trade policy and international economic cooperation.
