Mr. Szebeni is a Sr. Technical Advisor on Rural Finance and Investment at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations with 20+ years of experience spanning commercial and investment banking, development finance and rural development. At FAO, he leads policy and technical assistance efforts supporting member states, field programmes, and financial sector actors to scale up inclusive and sustainable finance for agriculture, value chain development and agrifood system transformation, with extensive field experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Near East and Central and Southeast Asia. In the past, he has held various managerial, advisory and analytical roles at global financial institutions as well as private investment firms where he was responsible for financial and credit analysis; mergers and acquisitions advisory; capital raising and private equity transactions for emerging SMEs globally. Mr. Szebeni holds a Master’s Degree in Development Economics and is a candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
